Seinfeld Movie Posters

Seinfeld is one of those TV shows that, for the most part, passed me by. I caught the occasional episode but never followed it as much as I should have. So when NextMovie asked me to draft up posters for all the fake movies featured in the programme, I wasn’t up to speed on what they meant.

Anyone who did follow the show will know that Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer often went to the cinema to see movies invented for the show. These posters all feature the titles, story set-ups and, where relevant, critic reviews and taglines (“When someone tries to blow you up, not because of who you are, but for different reasons altogether.”)¬†from these fake films. Here are a couple of the designs:

The casts and directors of the fake movies are entirely from the depths of the NextMovie imagination. Visit the original post on the NextMovie blog for the full rundown and all ten poster designs.

      Hi Thomas,

These aren’t available to buy at the moment. However, there’s been a good response from them so I may print a limited run over the next few weeks. If you email me at info@oldredjalopy.com then I can keep you updated. Cheers!

How do you leave Harrison Ford out of Death Blow? He was specifically mentioned as the lead in the movie by Seinfeld.

Hey Edgar – to be honest, I didn’t know a lot about these fake films before this project. However, I did a fair bit of research and I know that Jerry mentions Harrison Ford as the star of Firestorm, a different fake film from a different episode. He mentions that Ford jumps out of the plane and fires back up at it as he falls. Although a character firing at a plane is discussed by people who see Death Blow, Harrison Ford isn’t mentioned as the star. Also, one of the main points of the project was to cast the films as though they were being made (or re-made) today. Not sure Harrison fits the bill anymore…!

For anyone interested in buying prints of the posters, I’m producing a limited short-run print set of 4 of the most requested designs – Rochelle Rochelle, Death Blow, Chunnel and Flaming Globes of Sigmund. The posters won’t be available to buy at the online store – they are email order enquries only. Please email info@oldredjalopy.com if interested.
